The producer of Final Fantasy XVI Naoki Yoshida in an interview with Game Informer explained why the game is an exclusive for PS5. According to him, it is important to note that Creative Business Unit III does not develop games, thinking that he wants to limit the game of only one platform or company. When the team started developing FFXVI, studio "I examined all the options", – Says Yoshid.

Yoshida added that the development for one system is much easier, moreover, PlayStation helped the team.
From the point of view of developers and programmers, restriction of development by one system not only facilitates the task for us, but also allows us to optimize it. Thanks to this, we can maximize performance for this one system, because we are focused only on it. This allows us to create the game that we want to create, [and] this facilitates the task for us.
As for the developers, according to Yoshida, CBUIII would like as many people around the world as possible to play this game.
